In the heart of Yaffo operates the “Leredet Lemala” Integrative Mechina (Premilitary Academy)— a groundbreaking educational initiative born from a clear desire to spark a true educational revolution in Israeli society.

Our vision seeks to renew the meeting point between young adults and Torah, and with their own inner world: not as a distant system of abstract rules, but as a living path that shapes a complete, ideal human being — one who is guided in daily life, in work, in relationships, and in raising a family.

At the core of our educational approach stands Avodat HaMiddot — the disciplined, daily practice of refining one’s character. In our Beit Midrash, learning is inseparable from personal work: the habits we build, the choices we make, and the inner resilience we develop. We believe that true Torah is never detached from reality; it is deeply connected to life itself, guiding a person through challenges while helping them build a rich inner world.

A defining feature of the Mechina is the broad independence granted to the students — trust, responsibility, and real opportunities to lead decisions. This is how courageous, mature leadership is formed: young people who carry the vision of this educational revolution forward.

Today, over one hundred students learn in the Mechina, alongside a community of more than 200 graduates. The familial spirit of the Mechina is felt in the staff as well — more than half of our team are alumni who returned to the very home they grew from, dedicating themselves to raising the next generation. And we are still growing.

At the center of our work operates a vibrant Beit Midrash for graduates, preparing young men for lives of mission, education, and Avodat HaMiddot, and continuing the Mechina’s path into the years that follow their military service.
